Yesterday was Earth Day. It has been 55 years since the first official Earth Day in 1970. Some years there are big splashes with a lot of fanfare. And others I’ll see a few posts on social media and that’s about it. It is a day that by its very nature reminds me to step outside, take a deep breath, and take in the beauty of my surroundings. I’m reminded to be in gratitude as I take my daily walk.
This Spring, in particular, has put on quite a show in my little corner of the world. All of the Spring flowers have bloomed at once. Cherry blossoms, daffodils, tulips, azaleas, dogwoods, rhodedeneven my rosemary is covered in flowers. My walks have been spectacular the last few weeks. Especially on sunny days when the blue sky provides a backdrop to all the new.
Usually, I use this space to talk about the industry in some way. But this time I’d like to take a minute and draw your attention to an incredible opportunity coming up at RE+ in September.
Brighten Haiti, a non-profit with a mission to use solar to expand education, develop sustainable economies, and end poverty in Haiti, will be hosting a once-in-a-lifetime event at RE+. They have partnered with Over The Edge to give you and your team the opportunity to rappel down a Las Vegas hotel!
Seriously. How cool is that? A bucket list opportunity while supporting solar education and installations in Haiti. That little stomach flip when thinking about rappelling down a building? That’s a good thing.
There are multiple ways to get involved. And even though RE+ feels a ways away, time is running short.
Become a Sponsor
Become a sponsor of the event and expand your visibility at RE+ while making a lasting impact on the lives of Haitians. Limited sponsorships are available.
Create a Team
Build team spirit and make a difference while at an event you’re already attending. Your team will be talking about this one for years!
Become a Participant
Fulfill a bucket list wish while making a difference! Setting up a fundraising page to reach the $1250 minimum is quick and easy.
And, of course, there is always the snarky route – who would you pay to see jump, I mean rappel, off a building?
Head over to www.brightenhaiti.org/over-the-edge to sign up today!
Don’t hesitate to reach out to me or Kevin Keene with questions.
And please spread the word.
Thanks!
Create Clarity for Your Clean Energy Brand with a Style Guide
"But we have a logo. That's all we need, right?"
If your idea of brand consistency is "that one person who remembers what we're supposed to look like" or "whatever font doesn't offend my eyes today," let’s talk style guides. Your clean energy brand deserves better than Comic Sans in rogue email signatures.
A proper style guide isn't just for large corporations - it's essential for any clean energy company looking to differentiate itself in a crowded market. When created well and used a style guide saves time, money, and creates the consistency needed for brand recognition.
Check out my latest blog on why your clean energy brand needs a style guide and what should be included in one.
